WELCOME TO HIDIG BOAT FACTORY
Hidig Boat Factory (HBF) was the successor body of Ex-Liban Fishing Company (LIFCO) which started operating in Somalia in 1988. LIFCO was engaged in fishing, fish processing, exporting sea products (fish and lobster) and selling fishing gears to local fishing communities. Finally, the shareholders decided to promote and establish Boat Building Factory producing boats and other accessories like cool boxes and making. We started also providing boats and fishing gears on loan to encourage them but that was weakened when piracy started and spoiled the stability and business as well.
Ten years ago, HBF was very small factory with limited capacity and staff. Years of a hard work and dedication, HBF was able to expand and grow steadily. Now HBF runs a successful business, has offices in over four cities in Somalia and in partnership with international organizations that operate in Somalia. HBF is legally registered at Puntland State of Somalia Ministry of Commerce and is member of Puntland Chamber of Commerce.
Management
HBF has board of directors, armed with extensive knowledge of the fishing business, guided by the overriding objective of ensuring the interest of the stakeholders and the community at large. The day to day business is run by a management team chaired by the Executive Director. Below is HBF organizational structure.
